ABS Payroll provides entertainment payroll services for anything related to entertainment such as, commercials, documentaries, industrials, music videos, reality television, short films, New Media Content, live events and Entertainment staff payrolls.


Since 1985 our knowledgeable, experienced payroll experts have promptly handled payroll for large and independent productions, allowing you to focus on your creative project. Our team understand union regulations for all major unions (SAG-AFTRA, DGA, I.A.T.S.E., Teamsters, WGA/PDGA). ABS Payroll can also act as SAG signatory under the Corporate/Educational Non-Broadcast Agreement


ABS Payroll acts as the “employer of record” on behalf of productions. The beauty of this is that the production company does not have to worry about incoming unemployment claims, tax filings on a monthly and quarterly basis, and finally generation of annual W2’s & 1099’s. ABS Payroll handles the items listed as part of our payroll handling fee that will be quoted when you call in. ABS encourages any sized project to call us for an accurate quote.


ABS Payroll provides the following in our payroll service:


  • Calculations of payroll timecards (we know how to breakdown a SAG timecard)
  • 24-48 hour turnaround time
  • Direct Deposit available for recurring/on-going clients
  • Payroll integration with our Production Accounting software
  • Compliance with 2017 wage and hourly laws in all states
  • 401(k) or other insurance plan/dues deduction(s) can be implemented/tracked
  • Federal and state income tax withholding administration
  • On time Union pension and welfare contributions, reports, and administration on behalf of producers for all unions
  • Unemployment Insurance Claims are handled by ABS Payroll.
